Abstract

Power transformer plays a crucial part in the operation of electric power network. Its fault may lead to inevitable losses not only millions of dollars but can also become a cause of accidents, injuries and even deaths. To avoid any failures, several techniques of diagnosis have been designed over the decades. Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) is found to be one of the most effective techniques to determine mechanical faults in transformer windings. On-line FRA gives the opportunity to detect deformation without the need to disassembly in the transformer from the system. With the help of machine learning and IoT, it is expected to advance existing fault diagnosis and prognosis techniques.

Biography

Aiman Makhsudova received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Power Engineering from S.Seifullin Agrotechnical University, Astana, Kazakhstan in 2017. She is 1-year M.Sc student at Nazarbayev University, Astana, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. Currently, her field interest is power systems.
